What does it mean to be 28?

28. Srsly?

It seems to be only yesterday when I wrote 27 life lessons that I learned (and probably need to re-learn once in a while). Or the 26 things I am grateful for.  Wow!  Apparently, time just seems to fly by so quickly once adulthood arrives. Hmmmm...

Well, it's that time of the year when I should be writing 28 chuvanesschenes churvaloo list, right? Um, technically, there's a bucket list lying somewhere. But I'm not going to hit the Publish button on that one.  At least not this time.  I'm taking my sweet time. Chos!

Anyhow, turning 28 made me wonder what it really means to be 28.

Come to think of it, it makes not much of a difference actually. As they say, age is just a number.  I’m barely older than I was yesterday.  As long as I go out there and keep giving the best of what I got every single day, I'm going to turn out puh-retty good.

Looking back, I may not have exactly followed the "life plan" made by the young, naive, and idealistic 18-year-old me, but I know I’m closer to the finish than I am to the start. I may have taken a major detour, but I'm pretty sure I'm exactly where I ought to be right now.  How do I know that?  Well, I'm happy, contented, loved, and blessed beyond measure. There's not much more to ask for.  ^____^

Dear Labs...

Dear Labs,

It's been one long year since that fateful day when Sendong took you away.  I still remember the tragedy that it was -- the pain in my gut as we process what just happened in a span of few minutes, seeing the aftermath that very morning.  I remember how we held our breaths as we approached the place where you should have been, hoping against hope that you somehow miraculously survived the flash flood.

I remember how a wave of sadness and grief felt like when you were not there -- as if a painful gust of wind hitting the core of my very bones.  Just like that, you were gone. Along with other possessions, along with lives of children and adults.

I remember, Labs, how we prayed so hard that you'd come back looking for us.  I remember how my head turns and instinctively call out "Labs" to every brown dog that I see -- heck, I called all kinds of dogs 'Labs.'  In every barangay we went to to bring help, I called out your name -- hoping, wishing, praying.

But it was not meant to be, Labs. Perhaps God just needed another doggy angel up there.  You brought us much happiness during your brief stay with us. Perhaps it's time you bring joy to the cherubs in the heavens.

I miss you Labs.  I remember well the grief, the sadness, and the pain. I can only imagine what other people who lost more must have gone through.  I pray for them and their families too.


Wherever you are, dear Labs, I'm pretty sure you are well now. :)

Good news, good vibes, good mood!

"Christmas came early for me this year."

That was part of my status message earlier today. I could've written that in bold, colorful, sparkling and dancing letters if Facebook only reflects such explicit display of pure joy.

Who wouldn't drown in good vibes early in the morning if this is the first email you get to read?

That's more than enough good news to fuel the rest of the day with good vibes and good mood, right?! 

Let's back up a bit. Let me tell you why I joined the photo contest. I read about it through Certified Foodies.  They were hosting a mini-giveaway to invite everyone to join the Nescafe 3in1 Serendipics Photo Contest. I wanted to win the gift pack from Certified Foodies.  The box shaped like a camera was too cute!  Plus it's pink! And there's a red Nescafe mug inside. I was actually sad when I didn't win that. Oh well. 

But hey! I JUST WON A CAMERA from Nescafe 3in1!!! In my world, that's like a gazillion times better than the pink box shaped like a camera! 

Colorful Prayers

That's the photo that will give me a camera prize. It doesn't matter if I got the first prize (Panasonic Lumix), second (Canon PS A4000), or third (Lomo camera). Though I'm secretly hoping to win Panasonic Lumix (and the bragging rights of winning first prize), I'd be equally happy with the Lomo. :)

Incidentally, I posted that same photo yesterday with a quote, 

“When you are truly clear about what you want, the entire universe stands on tiptoe waiting to assist you in miraculous and amazing ways to manifest your dreams and intentions.” 

True! My waking hours the past few weeks had been filled with thoughts of cameras. I wanted to buy one in December. The universe must have listened, decided to intefere, and miraculously and amazingly sent me what I wanted -- in ways I could hardly imagine. And I'm grinning from ear to ear. All. Day. 

And as if that wasn't enough, there's a surprise waiting for me at the end of the day to take my Christmas-y vibe to a full circle. A dear friend gave me these:

Product Review: Swish Breath Spray

I received a call a few weeks ago to pick up a package from Unilab at a friend's house.  The package contains the product I was going to review — Swish Breath Spray. Well, this is something I was excited to try.  

And to be extremely and shamelessly honest, Ryan Agoncillo is one of the reasons I looked forward to doing this review. :p

Anyways, after trying the new Swish Breath Spray for a week, here's  what I love about it:

It is very convenient to use anytime and anywhere for a quick breath fix.   The 10 ml breath spray is just the right size.   It is light and it easily fits the purse, the travel kit, and even the pocket.   It gives you instant fresh breath!  Spraying 1 to 2 pumps into your mouth freshens breath instantly. It quickly kills germs and bacteria in the mouth, eliminating bad breath.  Note: I don't smoke nor drink alcoholic beverages, so I wouldn't know if Swish can eliminate those odors as well. It's alcohol-free. Swish gives you fresh breath without the stinging / burning sensation.  It also does not leave your mouth dry. It's sugar-free.  Since bacteria, which causes the bad breath, usually thrive in environments rich in sugar, it is important that the breath spray you use does not have sugar.    Swish is available in 2 refreshing variants – Arctic Chill and Peppermint Fresh.  Of the two, I personally prefer the Peppermint Fresh.
